Work with GIS Pro
We welcome expressions of interest from practical GIS professionals who care about delivery, systems, and solving real client problems — not just technical skills for their own sake.

GIS Pro is a small, specialist team that works on substantive GIS challenges for real clients. The work is varied — enterprise system design, spatial analysis, field data collection, automation, training, and long-term embedded support — and the pace is demanding.
We value people who are curious, direct, and genuinely interested in the organisations they work with. Technical skills matter, but so does the ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders and work through ambiguous problems with good judgement.
We do not have a formal application process. Email info@gispro.com.au with your CV and a short note about your background, the kind of work you are interested in, and what you are looking for.
If your background looks like a potential fit, we will reach out for a short call to understand what you are looking for and share more about the team and the work.
We do not recruit to fill a vacancy. We hire when we meet someone who is a strong fit for the team and the work. Expressions of interest are always welcome, even if timing is uncertain.
QGIS and open-source GIS platform expertise is central to everything we build. Experience configuring enterprise QGIS environments, managing spatial databases, and working with open web services (WMS, WFS, OGC APIs) is highly valued.
Spatial database design and management using PostgreSQL and PostGIS — including schema design, query optimisation, and integration with GIS platforms.
Python scripting and GIS automation — including QGIS plugin development, ETL pipelines, scheduled data synchronisation, and API integrations.
Experience with mobile GIS and field data collection platforms, particularly Mergin Maps, including form design, offline deployment, and integration with central GIS databases.
Spatial analysis across a range of types — constraint overlays, network analysis, catchment modelling, hotspot detection — and high-quality cartographic production for client-facing outputs.
We don’t have any current vacancies listed, but we are always interested in hearing from strong candidates.
Send your CV and a brief note about what you are looking for to info@gispro.com.au.
